Chia,Flax, and Hemp Hearts Hot Cereal

Isn't it funny how fast time goes by? My absence on this blog was never meant to stretch on for 4 long months. Honestly, it was never meant to be an absence at all. It all started with a party, where after one too many cocktails I dropped my camera on the cold tile floor- and although this camera had been dropped more times than I can say- it was no match for my friend's kitchen floor.

No big deal, I just bought a new camera. I mean, I kind of had to- the holidays at this point were creeping up on me, and with 2 ever changing little boys, I had no choice but to invest in another camera. Guess what guys...... I dropped the new one too!
And the funny part, same friend's house!
Genius advice from my mom, "USE THE WRIST STRAP!".

Flash froward to now, the camera is back from repairs- thank goodness for warranties- the wrist strap is attached, and I'm so happy to get back to blogging!

This new year has already been zipping by, I'm back to eating healthy after being incredibly naughty over the holidays. And, I can honestly say I feel great! That's the funny thing about eating like shit, right? It makes me feel like shit too!

I've recently become obsessed with using chia seeds, flax, and hemp hearts in my everyday recipes. I am well aware that these things are not for everyone. I don't have an issue with weird textures- so I kind of love chia seeds which gel up when soaked in liquids. And the fact that these ingredients are high in protein, nutrients, and fiber while being low in sugar, fat and carbs make them an easy go to for me!

Here's a little something I've been loving over the past couple of months.

This "Hot Cereal" is not only easy and quick to whip up, but also tastes great and keeps me full all morning long. I'm stuck on strawberries and cream, but a little almond butter mixed in was a favorite for sure!
